Safety First

Fibre General Contracting is committed to providing a safe environment for our employees, subcontractors and the public. We have established safety standards that we follow in order to ensure everyone's well-being on all of our jobsites. Here is a brief of how we maintain a safe work environment:

  • General Contracting requires that all employees and subcontractors wear a safety helmet while on the jobsite. Safety helmets are required for those working with any power tools, including saws, drills or other similar equipment. This ensures they will have protection from accidental injuries if they fall off of something or their hand slips as they work to complete a job.
  • All employees and subcontractors are required to be wearing safety goggles any time they work with equipment that has the potential for dust or other debris (such as a saw). This helps them avoid getting particles in their eyes if something gets into the air while they're working.
  • All workers are required to wear steel toe shoes to protect their feet. This is important in the case of a fall, or if they accidentally hit something with their foot as they work.
  • All employees and subcontractors are required to wear long sleeves at all times while on site, this protects them from getting burns when working near equipment that has hot surfaces (such as Asphalt Infrared Machine).
  • All employees and subcontractors are required to wear safety gloves at all times while on site, this protects them from getting cuts or scrapes when working with sharp objects (such as power tools). Fibre General Contracting also requires that these gloves be made of a material such as leather. This is important for two reasons: it ensures the worker doesn't get their hands covered in chemical or other substances they are working with, and it protects the worker's hand from sharp objects such as metal edges of unfinished wood.
